Congratulations to Grant Recipient Professor Jana S. Rošker for being Named as a Recipient of the 25th Taiwan-France Cultural Award
Mar 30, 2021The Foundation is pleased to announce that one of our grant recipients from the European Region, Professor Jana S. Rošker, has been named as a recipient of the 25th Taiwan-France Cultural Award. Professor Rošker earned her Ph.D. degree in Sinology from the University of Vienna, and currently serves in the Department of Asian Studies at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. Her research centers on Sinophone and transcultural philosophy, especially Modern New Confucianism in Taiwan and its many contributions to the foundations of East Asian modernization theories. Her impressive record of academic achievement in these fields includes over 100 articles and book chapters, 14 edited volumes, and 12 books.
In 2012-2015, Professor Rošker organized a Foundation-supported research project about Taiwanese modern Confucians and their philosophical contributions to Asian modernization, and is currently undertaking a new grant project on modern and contemporary Taiwanese philosophy. Through the years, she has engaged in close cooperation with numerous academic institutions in Taiwan, while also helping spread knowledge of Taiwan’s philosophical contributions worldwide. The Foundation is deeply proud of Professor Rošker’s outstanding accomplishments having earned recognition in the form of this great honor.
