Buddhist Bibliographical Database on the Internet
This research project was devoted to the collection of bibliographic data in Chinese and English related to the study of Buddhism, which was then compiled as a searchable database on the worldwide web. At the time of its completion in 1998, over 80,000 entries and 800 journal articles had been made available for scholarly use. The Chung-Hwa Institute of Buddhist Studies at Dharma Drum Mountain continued work on this project beginning in 1999, renaming it the Digital Buddhist Library and Museum. In 2009, the project was incorporated into the Research Center for Digital Humanities at National Taiwan University. Through the years, over 12 million users in 200-plus nations have utilized these materials to pursue research on Buddhism.
